Detroit woman divorces man facing 28-year sentence

There are a number of reasons that couples get divorced. Infidelity is one of the most common reasons for divorce, but other reasons include growing apart from one another, wanting different things out of the marriage and falling out of love. All of these reasons are extremely painful to face for those going through ending their marriage. The emotions and the excitement involved in getting married quickly turn into something else when experiencing a divorce. Although getting through a divorce is difficult psychologically and emotionally, it does represent the end of something negative and paves the way for the start of something else.

In Detroit, Michigan, the wife of Bobby Ferguson has filed for divorce. Mr. Ferguson was indicted along with former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on a number of federal charges; ultimately, the two men were found guilty and recently sentenced to 28-years in prison. Apparently, this was Mrs. Ferguson's breaking point, which resulted in her divorce filing. Amid the alleged affairs with other women and various other activities of her husband that were detrimental to their marriage, Ms. Ferguson finally had had enough. The couple has five children together.

Whatever the reason may be, divorce is never an easy decision to come to because it signifies the end of a marriage, a union that was meant to last forever. However, when that does not happen, it is important to be practical about the situation and to ensure that legally you are protected in the divorce. Where children are involved, the courts often intervene to ensure that the rights of the children are the top priority. This is mainly done via child support guidelines and visitation schedules.

Divorce signifies a difficult time in the lives of the two people having to deal with it. Even though it is difficult, it is not impossible to come out of a divorce in a better place.
